Tap into the pulse of San Francisco

Centrally located in one of the most vibrant Bay Area neighborhoods, The Marker is only steps away from Union Square. Get ready to experience the history and culture of our city.

A History All Our Own

A cornerstone of San Francisco hospitality for over 100 years, The Marker Hotel stands as a beloved destination. In 1910, its doors opened as Hotel Bellevue. Today, the seven-story building has stayed true to the original Beaux-Arts architecture, featuring high ceilings, a grand staircase, accent jewel tones, and two unique lobby spaces with original fireplaces. It strikes the perfect balance between past, present, and future.

Proudly situated in the heart of San Francisco’s Theater District, The Marker represents the eclectic character of the city and its contemporary appeal. Newly renovated to best serve first-time and returning guests, this boutique hotel pays tribute to a classic of film noir—The Maltese Falcon. The slick style and rich design is felt throughout the building, creating a timeless aesthetic.

The collection of rooms and suites are outfitted in equally sophisticated style and equipped with modern comforts. Beyond an inviting spot to rest your head, each guestroom offers plenty of space to unwind or work. Guests can also take advantage of complimentary access to the 24-hour fitness center and an array of home-inspired amenities.
